HEAR OUR VOICES THIS CHRISTMAS

Join us this Christmas Eve and celebrate music in the Mass at 5pm, 7pm and 9pm.

The 9pm Mass is the equivalent of our Midnight Mass preceded by carols at 8.30pm.  Capture the essence of Christmas and enjoy the repertoire of Schola Mariae complemented this year by the beautiful voices of guest sopranos Imogen Thirlwall and Tess Robsinson.  Their music promises to be in keeping with the spirit of Christmas: our spirits will soar as we hear echoed on earth the song of the heavenly choir - Glory to God in the highest and on earth Peace to those who enjoy his favour.

The two earlier Masses will also offer music in keeping with the season.  

At 7pm the Emmaus Music Group focus their Christmas Mass music on the carols and songs that are integral to every believing Catholic's Christmas.  Their music will inspire a response in song from those who come to that Mass: with Emmaus there is opportunity to give glory and praise to God as the shepherds did for all they had heard and seen.

The children will delight those who go to the 5pm Mass.  Sursum Corda will sing their hearts out, and will encourage their parents and grandparents and others who like that early Christmas Eve Mass to do likewise: the eagerness of those who gather for that first Mass on Christmas Eve is reminiscent of the Shepherds determining to leave their flocks and go off in search of "this thing that the Lord has made known to us."

Those who prefer to begin their Christmas Day with Mass will discover that Christ has indeed been born anew among us at Christmas through celebration of the morning Masses at 8am and 10am.
