Catholic Women’s League

The Catholic Women’s League is one of the active groups in Saint Mary Immaculate Parish.  From February to December each year there is a monthly meeting, the focus of which varies according to the programme of work that the League members have set for themselves.   Their work is apostolic in that it looks beyond the immediate needs of members to how others can be assisted.  For many years the CWL in Tauranga has supported a mission station in the Solomon Islands, and this remains an important focus both of members’ interests and of fund-raising activities.  The first fund-raising “Mission Lunch” will be held on 20th March.

Meanwhile the first actual meeting of the year is on Tuesday 21st February, when the guest speaker will be Helen Hindmarsh, from the Tauranga City Super Centre (an outreach of WINZ), who will speak to us about that to which we are ‘entitled’ as senior citizens.

Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month, beginning with Rosary at 1.15pm in the Chapel.  The meetings themselves also include a brief reflection arranged and delivered by one of the members.

All women of the Parish are welcome to attend: come along to the February meeting to find out more about belonging to this vibrant group.
